“The Diocese of Boise paid for half of my education, and this is my way of gifting back to the diocese for the wonderful things they have done for me,” he said.
“I think it is vital for parishioners to contribute to the Church for it to be able
to fund the important facets involved in education, including its teachers, both
lay and clerical.
Many years ago, Verne and his wife, Shirley, set aside money in a charitable remainder trust to decrease their taxes. The trust was set up with proceeds to benefit nonprofit organizations.
It is my hope that more individuals and Catholic communities in the Diocese will recognize the value of pooling our investments together in the Foundation.
